生物医学 学士B.S. in Biomedical Sciences

The Biomedical Sciences major is designed to prepare students for the rigors of medical school, related professional/graduate programs, or employment in a biomedical or biotechnology lab. After completing the basic prerequisite courses for medical or professional school, students will take advanced biomedical science courses, including cell biology, genetics, microbiology, and biochemistry. The curriculum also includes laboratory components with nearly all of the courses, so students develop hands-on laboratory skills in addition to the knowledge gained from the classroom.

Graduates with a BS degree in Biomedical Sciences will be prepared for admission to medical school, dental school, physician assistant school, or pharmacy school. In fact, the curriculum is designed to prepare students for the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test), and our faculty PreMed/Pre-Health advisor is available to help guide students through the application process.

Some students will want to further strengthen their research skills and will pursue graduate programs in Biomedical Sciences. Students will also be prepared for PhD programs in related fields such as Neuroscience, Immunology, Microbiology, and more. Others will consider careers working as research assistants in biotechnology labs and companies.
